Biography: Ing. R. (Rick) van Heumen MRE
Mr. Van Heumen has more than 35 years of real estate development experience. Mr. Van Heumen acted as board member, statutory managing director for several real estate companies since 2000. At Hurks as general manager and board member he was responsible for the construction division and the development company. For the development company he has been instrumental for initiating, acquisition and execution of many projects and various partnerships. Those projects include PPP’s, inner city area developments and life science projects. Prior to joining Hurks in 2010 mr. Van Heumen held the position as of 2006 of Project Director at 3W, an affiliate of ING Real Estate, where he was responsible for residentials and retail shopping centers. As managing director at Grontmij (today SWECO), its affiliate Quendis – a JV with ING Real Estate – he has been key for the international expansion of the logistics development business into Italy, Spain, Germany and Central-Europe in the years 2001 up to 2006. Prior to 2001 mr. van Heumen was Business Unit Manager / Developer at the 3W. Mr. van Heumen initiated his own real estate development company Eurasian Real Estate in 2006. Eurasian has successfully completed various logistics projects in e.g. Romania and acted development advisory company and partner for various projects in Serbia, Hungary, Romania, Bulgaria and CIS. Mr. van Heumen has a long standing management track-record and oversees all aspects of the real estate industry, for all asset classes, through the economic cycles. He has enjoys an extensive international network. Mr. Van Heumen holds a Master Degree in Real Estate of the University of Amsterdam.
